1. How PolyTrip works
PolyTrip is a marketplace where hosts list group trips and travellers secure spots with a refundable deposit. A trip is only confirmed when the host's target group size is reached. If the tipping point is not reached before the trip's deadline, all deposits are automatically refunded.
2. Deposits and payments
Deposits are held in escrow and are fully refundable if the trip does not reach its tipping point. Once a trip is confirmed, the remaining balance is charged. All payments are processed by Stripe. PolyTrip charges a platform fee of approximately 10% of the total trip price.
3. Host responsibilities
Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of all trip information — dates, location, inclusions, and pricing. Hosts must honour the trip as described once the tipping point is reached. PolyTrip reserves the right to remove listings that are inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of these terms.
4. Traveller responsibilities
By securing a spot, you agree to pay the full trip price if the tipping point is reached. You are responsible for arranging your own travel insurance and ensuring you meet any entry requirements for the destination.
5. Cancellations
If a traveller cancels before the tipping point, their deposit is refunded in full. If a traveller cancels after confirmation, the refund policy set by the host applies. If PolyTrip or the host cancels a confirmed trip, all payments are refunded in full.
6. Liability
PolyTrip is a marketplace and is not responsible for the conduct of hosts or travellers. We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in a trip. By using PolyTrip you agree to these limitations.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email. Continued use of PolyTrip after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
